I am an Clinical Trauma therapist, and devote 10 CEUs for continued education to ensure I am upholding the forefront interventions. I hold certifications in Mindfulness meditation, and Trauma-affirmative approaches to reduce pain, suffering, and emotional distress. For past 6-yrs, I have been working with thrive-rs of Chronic illness and complex medical issues. My framework consists of: Integrative Relational Psychodynamic, CBT, and Life Course Approaches with the sensitivity drawn toward Trauma Informed Therapy practices. I have extensive experience with IPV - DV and complex family / relational dynamics.

Ryan’s clinical interests include: relational work, chronic illness, trauma, and resiliency skills.

Caelan Holcombe,

Caelan has been an associate therapist with the practice since July 2020 and previously was an intern, co-facilitating groups with practice manager Ryan Sforza, LMHC. Caelan also completed an internship at Anthony Jordan Health Center in Rochester, NY working with ethnically diverse youth and young adults. Caelan is fully licensed in mental health counseling in 2023. Caelan is a graduate of St. John Fisher College and has completed additional training in trauma-informed approaches and DBT. Caelan has experience working with people across the lifespan and is passionate about working with LGBTQ+ clients. Caelan has attended conferences and trainings on transgender health, identities, and counseling in Philadelphia, Vermont, and Rochester, NY.

Michelle McDonald LCSW

Michelle McDonald is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduate of Syracuse University’s Master of Social Work program. For over 10 years, she has provided individual and group therapy in outpatient settings to adults in the Rochester community. She has experience working in areas such as life transitions, chronic illness, co-occurring disorders, with those questioning or struggling with their relationship with substances, and with family members / loved ones who have been affected by substance use. Michelle has and continues to engage in continuing education training specific to providing gender affirming care. She is honored to be a professional associate of Thriving Mental Health Counseling NY.


Megan Barrett, LMFT

Professional Associate / LMFT Supervisor

Megan Barrett is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist that specializes in providing sex therapy to individuals and a variety of relational systems. She values the unique qualities of each relational system, working with them to build on their strengths to obtain the quality of life they desire. In 2012, Megan received her Masters of Science in Family Therapy from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. In the last 10 years, she has practiced in a variety of clinical settings to include; hospital in-patient, out-patient programs, in-home services and private and group practice settings. She is currently an AASECT Supervisor In Training (SIT) for clinicians working towards a certification in sex therapy. She also provides clinical supervision for students working towards a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy.
