We operate in align with CACPREP standards of licensing requirements. We have contracts with local universities of NYS. Those seeking sites in association with Marriage, Family Counseling we support you with our contracted LMFT-Supervisor.
Active Licensee from Master’s / Ph.D programs: Ryan Sforza LMHC-D can be your primary / secondary sponsor for Limited license in NYS for LMHC-D. Ryan has supported limited licenses since 2018. Ryan does hold Diagnostic Privileges for LMHC-D lic. 2025.
Active Licensed MHC from Master’s / Ph.D programs: Ryan Sforza LMHC-D can be your case-by-case consultation supervisor, or ongoing supervisor for LMHC-D. Ryan has supported licensed clinicians since 2018. For folks needing DP licensure, Ryan does hold Diagnostic Privileges for LMHC-D lic. 2025. Those in full licensure, often in private practice seek support in cases and counter isolation. Ryan has particular experience in supporting those who are minority therapists, and/or dual role in serving folx’s that align with mirrored elements.
Ryan has led an initiative to enhance Mentorship for the counselor-hood profession seeking to serve the both the LGBTQIA community, and more specific the TGNCNB community, by providing internship positions: from co-facilitating psychotherapy groups, development of psychotherapy group content and assistance on training projects.
Thriving's Clinical Supervisor Experience
My approach to clinical supervision is based on Relational / interpersonal psychodynamic, life course, and slightly constructivist. When working with students and other seasoned counselors I am reflective in my approach. I may recognize an learning growth or arena needing additional resources or review, I will send you my recommendations. I encourage you to set aside time to reflect on your thoughts, emotions, and actions that occur in and around client sessions so that we may better process them together. What I am most curiously interested in is finding out what your biases, blind spots, and assumptions, and then identifying if and how they influence your clinical purview with your patients. I am in the arena of crafting clinicians that are willing to be insightful reflective and thoughtful about their clinical craft, earnest appreciation of clinical development in counselor abilities. Good counselor supervision consists of having a good rapport between counselor supervisor and supervisee another element of the relationship being rewarding is this supervisee feeling welling to review barrable elements of themselves.
I offer CEU training programs devoted to LGBTQ, Relational, Chronic Illness, and counselor education / development. I have experience in leading and building curriculum for consultation projects, federally grant funded programs, and undergraduate credited class. I lead counselor education supervision groups, and individually support therapists in their career pursuit.
