Meghan is a NYS Provisionally-Licensed Mental Health Counselor working toward full licensure. Meghan graduated from St. John Fisher University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program earning her Master of Science in 2024. Meghan completed her internship experience at Pediatric Behavioral Health and Wellness through URMC. Meghan is also a certified 200-hour Yoga Instructor from Kripalu School of Yoga and Ayurveda. Meghan has extensive experience working with Children and Families in multiple settings for over a decade. Meghan is passionate about working with and advocating for the LGBTQIA-TGNCNBI communities. Upon graduation, Meghan has sought training in gender and sexuality, gender affirming care, and CCTP trauma training. Meghan’s approach is compassionate, strengths-based, and integrated, focusing on human connection and the therapeutic relationship to facilitate healing and growth.. 

Meghan strives to create an intentional space of empowerment and collaboration to aid you in navigating through life's challenges. Meghan’s therapeutic approach is strengths-based and integrative combining person-centered, ACT, IFS, and Relational. Meghan views mental health in a holistic way, and uses evidence-based approaches to collaboratively work with clients to meet their therapeutic goals. Ashley (they/she) is a licensed therapist with Thriving Mental Health Counseling, NY. Ashley graduated from Antioch University's Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and completed their internship with The Healing Connection in Rochester, NY. Upon graduating, they continued their education by attending trainings on gender and sexuality, suicidality, altered states, and honoring client autonomy in the context of domestic violence. Ashley's clinical interests include anxiety, identity exploration, religious trauma, eating disorders, and neurodivergence.  They utilize a non-carceral, collaborative approach that explores the ways in which systems impact an individual's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Ashley focuses on the client's strengths while supporting them in identifying and changing areas of their life that cause them pain and unhappiness.

Ge Gao (Henry) is a clinical practicum student currently enrolled at the University of Rochester Mental Health Counseling Program enjoying Problem Identification and Intervention in Counseling, Aging & Death, and Addictions Counseling and Prevention.

As a native Mandarin Chinese speaker,  I will bring valuable linguistic and cultural strengths to my counseling practice by having language fluency and an understanding of Chinese cultural values, family dynamics, and social expectations that shape my clients’ experiences. Besides, my cross-cultural background has equipped me with the ability to approach differences with curiosity rather than judgment. I strive to bring this openness into the counseling relationship.

Ge (Henry) Gao majored in Psychology in his undergraduate program and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

Before joining Thriving Mental Health Counseling, Ge Gao (Henry) worked as a psychology teacher at Nanchang 10th Middle School in China, teaching stress management skills and providing academic support to students. Furthering his passion for adolescence mental health and working with families, he garnered a parent training instructor position at Shenzhen Zifeiyu Rehabilitation Center for Children with Autism, to provide informational and emotional support for caretakers of children with Autism.

Ge (Henry)’s clinical approaches he is gravitationally pulled to include person-centered, DBT/CBT, trauma informed. He is interested in pursuing certification in EMDR in the near future. He is excited to be apart of the Thriving Team, and is looking forward toward an hands-on experience and collaborating with clients from diverse backgrounds.

I am an Clinical Trauma therapist (CCTP-II), and devote 10 CEUs toward Gender & Sexuality content to further push my continued education in the forefront interventions. I am pursuing my certification Financial Therapist. I hold certifications in Mindfulness meditation, Toxic Relational Dynamics, and Complex Trauma-affirmative approaches to reduce pain, suffering, and emotional distress. Since 2016, I have been working with spectrum thrive-rs of Chronic illness autoimmune/undiagnosed to complex medical issues. My framework consists of: Integrative Relational Psychodynamic, CBT, and Life Course Approaches with the sensitivity drawn toward Trauma Informed Therapy practices. I am an Relational therapist. I have extensive experience with IPV - DV and complex family / relational dynamics.

I have certifications in complex trauma applicable for minority members, public services members, healthcare workers, veterans, farmers, and adoptees in white families.

Ryan’s clinical interests include: relational work, chronic illness, trauma, and resiliency skills.

Caelan Holcombe is a NYS Licensed Mental Health Counselor working toward diagnostic privilege under the supervision of Ryan Sforza, LMHC. Caelan was an intern with the practice for two years while completing a Master’s program for Mental Health Counseling at St. John Fisher College in July 2020. Caelan had additional internship experience in integrated care, serving racially diverse clients at Anthony L. Jordan Health Center in Rochester, NY. Caelan has completed training on group therapy at St. John Fisher College and through the Rochester Area Group Psychotherapy Society. Caelan has attended conferences and trainings on transgender health, identities, and counseling in Philadelphia, Vermont, and Rochester, NY. Caelan participated in the 2023-24 URMC Transgender Health ECHO for continuing education on gender-affirming care. In April 2024, Caelan completed a 62-hour EMDRIA approved basic training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy and is currently engaging in ongoing consultation toward certification. Caelan's clinical interests include identity development, transition, complex trauma, dysphoria, neurodivergence and interpersonal issues.
